Agilent Celebrates 10-Year Partnership in Bangladesh and Pakistan

10 years ago when Agilent ventured into Bangladesh and Pakistan, the company enlisted H.A. Shah & Sons as the distributor. H.A. Shah started their business with $100K, distributing analytical instruments, and the company has since grown to a $5M business today. In the last three years, the company has had a 35% compound annual growth rate. To commemorate the 10-year partnership, CAG SAPK vice president Teng Chai Hock presented a certificate of recognition to Mr. Zulfiqar Bokhari and Mr. Waqar Bokhari, directors of H.A.Shah & Sons.

Dr. Teng congratulated H.A. Shah & Sons for this key milestone and added, “H.A. Shah & Sons is an important partner for Agilent in the emerging countries. Their exemplary business model has helped to build positive branding for Agilent in these two countries, which enables us to continue to tap on the growing opportunities there, especially in the textile and pharmaceutical markets.”

We have excellent support from Agilent’s management team, who is very committed to the business,” said Mr. Zulfiqar Bokhari, director of H.A.Shah & Sons. Mr. Bokhari also took this opportunity to announce the opening of Centers of Excellence in Karachi, Pakistan, Dhaka and Bangladesh.

These state-of-the-art centers, slated to be operational in January 2013, will showcase a full suite of Agilent instruments including Cary630, Cary60, HPLC and GC/MS. The centers will be used for customer training, applications and methods development in the chemical analysis and life sciences markets.
